Valid IDs for the Civil Service Exam

One missing or unacceptable ID can stop an otherwise ready applicant. This guide summarizes the CSC's latest detailed CSE-PPT announcement available when we checked. Use it to prepare, then use the announcement for your actual exam date as the final authority.

Which IDs has the CSC accepted?

The August 2026 CSC announcement listed, among others, passport, driver's license, PRC ID, SSS or GSIS/UMID, PhilID, postal ID, voter ID or certification, NBI clearance, police clearance, senior citizen ID, PWD ID, solo parent ID, school ID and company ID. It also listed several other government-issued and specified IDs. Digital National ID use was subject to CSC verification conditions.

This is not an exhaustive or guaranteed 2027 list. Check the exact CSC notice for your test before relying on an ID, particularly a temporary, digital, expired, school or employer-issued card.

What should you check on the ID?

  • It matches your application name and is the type accepted in the current CSC notice.
  • Its photo and personal details are legible. Bring the original and photocopy if the filing notice requires both.
  • If it does not show your date of birth, check whether a birth certificate is additionally required.
  • Keep the same accepted ID available for test day; the CSC's 2026 exam advisory explicitly enforced “No ID, no exam.”

If your ID is missing or uncertain

Ask your CSC regional office which alternative document it accepts before your appointment. Do not use another person's ID or assume a photo of a card will be accepted. Read our application steps and exam-day checklist so the same document plan works throughout.
